New Jersey's new governor, Chris Christie, is a master gardener, shearing the overgrown government of the Garden State back to a manageable shape.

We who live in neighboring states are cheering him on. The voters who put Christie in charge have given us hope that maybe we can regain control of our own bureaucratic jungles.

Go Christie! Root out the weeds that are strangling the little sprouts of prosperity. Rip away at the vines that suck the vigor from the healthy new growth.

Slash those taxes, mulch those unions, chop those smothering regulations! They all belong in the compost pile.

Pay no attention to the howls of the slugs and the parasites!

Keep it up and the Garden State will once again bloom and be fruitful.
